TechRadar Verdict It has a few downsides, and it’s up against some heavy hitters in the budget category, but HMD’s reboot of last year’s Nokia 6 is a tasty, thick slice of pure Android goodness. Pros +Stock Android with guaranteed updates+Durable yet attractive handset+Generous HD screen Cons -Solo rear camera-Battery just about lasts the day-Audio is a bit disappointing Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test. The Nokia is part of the second wave of the new Nokia smartphones, and it's time for the resurgent brand to prove that it can offer more than just a single-hit of original Nokia 6 got a strong 4-star review with some caveats - notably the slow charging and average hardware. When the Nokia was announced, there was a lot of excitement among Android purists about the updated design, upgraded chipset and addition of fast charging. The price has had a little bump we get into whether it’s worth the extra spend, it’s worth mentioning that there’s some confusion around the name of this phone. The company itself calls it the new Nokia 6’ in some places, and Nokia in others, including on the be using both in this review, but it’s useful to know because the Nokia 6 2017 is still out there, and you’ll want to double check you’re buying the newer handset before you pull the 2018 price and availabilityThe new Nokia price is $269 £229, RS 16,999 about AU$420, which is slightly more than the launch price of its predecessor $229, £200, AU$399.It's available from retailers in the US, UK and India and will be coming to Australia in more regions and displayClassy aluminum design with eye-catching accent colorsGenerous 1080p screen with glossy finishWeighty and not the most comfortable to holdIn true Nokia style, the Nokia is built like a tank. The x x including camera bump unibody is made from 6000-series aluminum with flat diamond-cut sides, rounded corners and a highlight color on the review model is the Black/Copper colorway, which is an innovative way to make yet another black rectangle look different - and classier - than its also a gorgeous deep blue option with gold accents, and White/Iron, which is a pale silver with metallic reddish accents rather than the deep grey you might expect from the name - presumably we’re talking about oxidized iron, aka the all-metal body and the thickness of the handset, this is a weighty piece of tech at 172g and feels reassuringly like it could handle modern life without being cosseted in a said, after a couple of weeks of use and several drops, we have noticed a few small dings in the edges, so you might want to case it up anyway if you’re a perfectionist about that kind of of drops, the Gorilla Glass 3-covered screen is also built to last, sustaining no damage from our butter-finger tendencies note not a guarantee. However, with its incredibly glossy, slightly rounded design, it does make the phone liable to fall straight off your desk if you put it face-down. Face-up it’s fine and has plenty of grip, but if you’re one of those people who flips your phone over for meetings, it might be better off in a have to be a big pocket, though the screen and relative thickness at means this isn’t one of the sleeker phones on the means it’s not the comfiest to hold in your hand, either smaller-pawed humans might well find it uncomfortable for long stretches, and it’s ridiculously easy to entirely muffle the solo downward-firing speaker on the bottom left with the heel of your you’re on board with the chunky aesthetic, the Nokia is an impressively good-looking piece of kit considering its price anodized back panel includes a long Zeiss-branded camera and flash opening, which protrudes a little. Below that is the fingerprint scanner, also ringed in the accent color, and past that is the sideways silver Nokia logo. That’s it for the back except for the Android One face of the phone is similarly minimalist, relying on that super-glossy screen and the accent color to stand out, which it absolutely a small Nokia logo on the top right of the fairly large for 2018 bezel, and there’s a thick black chin below the screen. This serves no obvious purpose as the fingerprint key is on the back and the nav buttons are software, but we can’t ask too much at the budget end of the left edge holds the SIM tray, there’s a proper headphone jack on the top right of the top edge, accented volume rocker and power key on the right edge, and a centered USB-C charging port on the bottom next to that left-mounted only complaint about this layout is that it’s quite easy to miss the fingerprint pad by touch and smudge up the flash unit just above it. That said, at least you’re not putting your fingerprints all over the camera lens as with some will, however, get your fingerprints all over the glossy screen and the aluminum back 169 screen of the Nokia in particular is very smudgy, but it’s much less noticeable when the display is powered a lovely-looking screen, bright and sharp, and while of course it can’t compare to the pixel-packed displays of the top-end devices, it does offer a full HD 1080 x 1920, 403ppi experience in a much less expensive package. As long as you don’t hold it next to a Samsung Galaxy S9, you should be happy. Current page Introduction, design and display Next Page Battery life and camera Most Popular

Kamu pengin punya mana dulu nih?
HMD Global Nokia 6The Nokia 6 is a good enough device for a lot of people, but not for everyone. It’s a pity there are few misses here and there that makes it stop short of being an overall well-rounded package that one would’ve liked it to HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 8, the Nokia 6 was the highest spec’d smartphone from the company, a company which describes itself as a startup but that carries the strong legacy of the Nokia brand. It was one of the three Nokia-branded Android smartphones along with the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 first launched by the Nokia 6 is essentially a mid-range smartphone that aims to offer a great Android experience instead of competing on the specifications sheet. Since it was first unveiled at MWC 2017 in February – but only went on sale only in the second half of the year – the innards are a tad dated compared to what else is on the shelves at the the Nokia 6 deliver on its promise of a capable mid-ranger with a pure and up-to-date Android experience? Let’s find out!Why we wouldn’t care about the Nokia 8 without the Nokia nameNewsDesign Let’s get this out of the way the Nokia 6 looks brilliant. It’s probably the best-looking Android smartphone in its price range– standing out in a sea of similar-looking smartphones. The design elements are even reminiscent of some devices in the Lumia portfolio from the Nokia of looks blocky since the edges are tapered, rather than curved. At mm and weighing 169 grams, it’s not the slimmest or lightest phone out there, yet it looks very premium and feels solid when you hold it in your hand. Milled from a single piece of 6000 series aluminum, the Nokia 6 feels like it is built to the back, there’s the familiar vertical Nokia branding. The matte finish looks slick, and the smartphone doesn’t pick up fingerprints easily. The camera is placed in a chrome housing, and it protrudes slightly from the body. It doesn’t look bad, but it does make the phone wobble when placed on a flat the Nokia 6 looks like a very premium smartphone with a build quality that gives you confidence it can withstand the rigors of everyday The Full HD 1920 x 1080 IPS LCD display on the Nokia 6 adds to the smartphone’s premium look and feel. There’s curved glass on top with Corning Gorilla Glass also a polarizer layer on the display that works like a filter to reduce the glare and reflections from the glass while improving the sunlight legibility. Even in harsh sunlight, brightness is adequate though and there’s no problem in using the phone display offers decent brightness generally, and the color reproduction is great. The images and text look crisp, but the contrast is somewhat lower than I would’ve liked. The viewing angles are just fine The Nokia 6 has a modest specifications sheet, especially compared to other smartphones in its price segment – and some in an even lower one. The Snapdragon 430 processor isn’t a workhorse, but it’s no slouch either. 3 GB RAM is good enough for most people, and the Nokia 6 powers through everyday tasks without slacking. In most cases, the Nokia 6 actually fared better than other phones powered by the Snapdragon 430 if you push it a little, the phone’s limitations are apparent. There’s some lag while switching between apps when multitasking extensively. That said, the gaming performance is all okay and there’s no stutter while playing graphics-intensive games. They do take a few seconds extra to launch, are the best cheap phones? We tested 44, here are our top 8The bestThere’s 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card. That should work for most people, unless you are a multimedia hoarder and need a device with 64 GB of storage Nokia 6 packs in a unremarkable 3,000 mAh battery – I didn’t expect any special endurance from it, but the smartphone can easily last a full day and then some. The only downside here is that there’s no fast-charging, and the phone takes over two hours to go from zero to 100% Nokia 6 sports Dolby Atmos sound enhancement that offers loud and clear audio. The difference is quite apparent if you turn it on or off and it’s actually pretty critical yet often ignored area where the Nokia 6 excels is latching on to cellular networks. Even in weak spots where some other phones struggled, the Nokia 6 would keep the network bars lit The home button on the front doubles up as a fingerprint scanner as well. While the fingerprint authentication works flawlessly, it is awkwardly placed towards the very bottom edge of the phone. It’s not a deal breaker, but it takes some time to get used Nokia 6 includes a hybrid tray, so you can either use two Nano SIMs, or one SIM and a microSD card. It uses micro-USB for charging instead of the new USB-C type port, which is a tad The Nokia 6 sports a 16 MP rear camera with pixel size and f/ aperture, along with dual LED flash. As expected, it manages to take good photos in daylight with a high level of detail. The contrast is great, and the photos come out sharp. But the colors lack punch and are more muted than what I would have low light conditions, the details suffer and the experience is below-par. In the absence of a light source, some of the shots would just come out the best camera phone? We tested dozens, here are our top 8 picksThe bestWith the phase-detection autofocus, the camera is quick to lock focus though it takes a while for images to be captured and saved. The 8 MP front-facing camera does a good job with selfies in good lighting conditions, but not so great in low mode is pretty dramatic and inconsistent, and photos take a while to process. The Panorma mode though is pretty good. The details are great, and stitching is flawless in most the camera app is pretty basic, there are handy features like a level and a compass, along with a Manual mode that lets you configure metering mode, white balance, exposure, and so Nokia 6 records video at 1080p/30fps. It’s nothing exceptional, but the videos manage to capture pleasant contrast and vivid colors, which is a little odd considering colors in photos can be the Nokia 6 has a decent camera, but certainly not the best in the business in its price segment. My primary issue with the camera was the inconsistency in performance. As a Nokia offering, I was hoping for a better imaging experience. That said, the software updates during my experience with the device have definitely enhanced the camera In its grand comeback, Nokia’s primary pitch focused on pure and up-to-date’ Android. With Android Nougat out of the box, the company promises regular and timely Android updates. And it looks like HMD Global is not slacking off, with updates coming through during my review period. The company has also promised the Android Oreo update for the entire Nokia note for the purists there are custom icons on board. There are also a few pre-loaded apps such as Amazon and the entire suite of Google apps, including Photos, which is the default app for photos on Nokia 6. There’s Google Assistant phone allows you to perform actions with supported apps by simply long-pressing the icons for launcher shortcuts. As in Android Nougat, there’s a split-screen mode, although the two simultaneous apps can only open as two equal halves only, without the option to resize IPS LCD 1920 x 1080 resolution403 ppiProcessorOcta-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430GPUAdreno 505RAM3 GBInternal Storage32 GBExpandable up to 128 GB with microSD cardCamerasRear 16 MP sensor with f/ aperture, PDAF, dual-LED flashFront 8 MP sensor with f/ apertureBattery3,000 mAhNon-removableQuick Charge NougatDimensions and weight154 x x mm169 gGalleryPricing and final thoughts The Nokia 6 is a good enough device for a lot of people, but not for everyone. The Nokia 6 is a conflicting device. There’s a lot to like about it, especially its premium design and solid build quality, but it’s only an average performer. It feels underpowered, especially for what many power users would expect. For those, there are better performing smartphones in the market available in the same price camera is unfortunately pretty inconsistent too. I liked it initially, but some of the sample shots were ₹14,999 $231 in India, the Nokia 6 is a tad expensive for the internal components it packs. But the stylish and durable chassis with stock Android could be just fine for a lot of people, especially those that aren’t too fussed on high performance and premium photography. It’s a pity there are few misses here and there that keep this device from being the overall well-rounded package that one would’ve liked it to be.
